Two Way Tree

Overlook, Pittsburgh

$25.00

Drawing by Jennifer.

This drawing was crafted as a way of working through my experience of returning to the city of Pittsburgh after years living away.  I set out to see the city again by walking, exploring, identifying, and studying bridges, buildings, and iconic structures that seem important to the city’s identity.  I asked friends, family, and strangers about their favorite parts of the city.  From the Point to the Carrie Furnace, the Bridge of Sighs to the inclines, rickety crumbling stairs, rose window stained glass, steel girders, tributary creeks, and exposed hillside slate, I filled in the corners of this city drawing collage, and I know I still missed so much.  But there she is, right in the middle, gazing and impressed, the spirit (or a spirit) of the city.

Printed to the highest industry quality and standards by a 10-tone Canon fine art printer using fully archival inkjet pigments on 100% cotton fiber, acid-free, lignin-free paper, so it will last as long as possible.  Hand-cut and checked for quality before shipment.
